Resarch Student,Mariko Kanamori,has received the 12th JSPS Ikushi Prize.

Identifying the social determinants of suicide in rural areas and developing a community empowerment model for suicide.

This year, 18 students were awarded from among 165 graduate school doctoral students recommended by the heads of universities or academic organizations nationwide.

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Ikushi Prize was established in 2010 to honor outstanding postgraduate doctoral students who are expected to contribute to the development of academic research in Japan in the future, to motivate them to study and conduct research, and to foster young researchers.

Publication: “‘Commuting Places’ in the Post-COVID19 Era” (Professor Kondo, Assistant Professor Haseda)

Naoki Kondo and Maho Haseda wrote a part of the book, “‘Commuting Places’ in the Post-COVID19 Era,” published by Japan Nurses Association Press.

They were in charge of Chapter 1, “The Current State of ‘Commuting Places ‘” , 3) Exceeding the numerical target through the cooperation of multiple departments (Mifune Town, Kumamoto Prefecture).

This booklet is a compilation of presentations and results from researchers and professionals participating in the Working Group on “Commuting Places” of the JApan Gerontological Evaluation Study(JAGES).

Naoki Kondo gave a special lecture on November 19, 2021 at the “Forum for Building a Community of Healthy and Longevity – “Mifune-cho” Fostering Community Connections and Mutual Support”, which was held in conjunction with Mifune-cho, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Mifune-cho, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a municipality that JAGES Organization, of which Kondo is a board member, is providing support for.
